Star Wars: More War, Less Fantasy

Dune (2021) is now out for people to judge and put under a microscope of analysis on what it all means. Watching Dune, one thing was clear: in war and politics, there are always casualties. We see that in Dune, and when it chooses to, we see it in the Star Wars franchise. I say this because violence is often portrayed as an exploding ship or a cutaway execution. Only when the victim is an alien species, whose insides can be substituted with green goo instead of human entrails, do we see brutality…
